This is part one of two.The wrestling world suddenly became abuzz last week when it was announced that Fusient had pulled out of the deal that would have them become the new owners of WCW. Suddenly, WCW was facing a shutdown, and even worse, Turner Broadcasting decided it no longer wanted to air WCW programming on TBS or TNT. So, suddenly WCW was in major trouble.Enter Vince McMahon.Yse, of all people, Vince McMahon purchased WCW on Friday. The biggest news story in the history of wrestling had unfolded right before our very eyes. Vince McMahon, who for years had done everything in his power to overpower WCW, had purchased the company. This is like Nintendo buying Sega, or CBS buying NBC. The magnitude of Vince McMahon owning WCW is epic, and will lead to some angles that I will discuss in my next column.As you may have seen last night on Nitro and Raw, Shane McMahon was announced as the new owner of WCW. This is somewhat real, because Vince McMahon has decided to let Shane run WCW, possibly so Shane can get experience for when he, one day, runs the WWF.No word yet on what role Linda will play in WCW, but chances are it will be revealed starting Sunday at Wrestlemania.
