The Nintendo 64 is not known for having a lot of quality fighting games. Most have been average (Fighter's Destiny) to terrible (Deadly Arts, Bio Freaks). War Gods is a game that has received terrible reviews, and for good reason. The game just isn't very good. It has terrible graphics and the gameplay and control are below average. But I found the game to be a little fun, and wasn't as bad as people said it was. That being said, this game still is pretty bad in the overall spectrum and isn't reccomended for anything more than a weekend rental.

Graphics (3/10): Gee, what a way to showcase the power of the Nintendo 64, NOT!! Forst off the camera is terrible. Ive actually had it move away from me during battle and show me hitting the guy in a first-person view, which completely threw me off guard. Anyways, besides the terrible camera, the character designs are OKAY but they look too muddy when fighting them during the game. The backgrounds really aren't that good as well.

I cant remember the music or sound effects so Im not going to go into that category.

Gameplay/Control (5/10): The gameplay is your classic fighter all the way, you get all the combos in the world at your disposal. Think of it as a Killer Instinct type game, with a special gimmicky thing called a 3D button, which is useless. The gameplay is okay but the control is not so good. Best played in multiplayer, where it is a decent fun.

Challenge (2/10)
Replay Value (2/10)

Overall (5/10): Multiplayer mode is where it's at, as at least that's fun. If you dont have someone to fight against, take this game for a weekend rental then forget about it.
